The Deep Dive shows how each topic in your discussion guide actually played out. Where the Summary gives you answers, the Deep Dive gives you the conversation — what was said, by whom, and how it unfolded. You’ll find it on the study’s Details tab.

Why it matters

Research reports need context, not just conclusions. The Deep Dive gives you the narrative behind each finding — the exact words people used, the moments where the conversation shifted, the quotes that tell the story.

What’s in it

By question

Each topic from your discussion guide gets its own section with:
  • A narrative summary of how the discussion went across all sessions
  • Key quotes, attributed by segment and age or participant number rather than by name
  • Which participants contributed and what they said
  • Charts and quantitative breakdowns where relevant
  • For a concept test question, which concept participants preferred, the same pick chart as the Summary, and each concept’s write-up and quotes
  • The question’s supercut — the strongest video evidence for that topic, playable inline

By participant

Open the Responses tab to flip the perspective and see what each person said across every topic. In a focus group study, the tab opens on Sessions, so pick Participants to see one row per person. Click a participant to see their emotional read. In an interview study, the tab lists each finished interview before the first analysis completes. While fieldwork is still running, you can watch each recording and download its transcript once it is ready. Useful for building participant personas, tracing one person’s thinking through the full discussion, or understanding how different segments responded.

Getting around

Move between views on the Details tab, such as Key findings, Questions, and Segments. If you’re writing up findings for one specific topic, open Questions and pick that question. You get everything you need in one place.
